At RoVFR, we value privacy and transparency. This Privacy Policy outlines how the RoVFR mobile application collects, processes, and safeguards your data. We are committed to protecting your information in accordance with the REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where applicable.

1. Types of Data Handled

RoVFR does not actively collect personal data, hereinafter referred to as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from users. However, the app may temporarily cache PII sourced from vfr.caa.ro, a trusted third-party service required for app functionality. This cached data may include:

  • Flight-related identifiers
  • Pilot or aircraft registration details
  • Mission parameters and metadata

This data is cached locally on the user’s device and is never accessed, transmitted, or processed by RoVFR systems unless the user provides explicit consent.

2. Diagnostic Data Collection

RoVFR may conditionally collect non-PII system-generated data for diagnostic and operational purposes, such as:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version and timestamp of usage
  • Crash logs and internal error events
  • Feature activation or performance metrics

This data may be transmitted to a secure external server to improve app stability, monitor performance, and support technical support operations. Transmission only occurs when necessary and under strict safeguards.

3. Data Use and Sharing

  • PII cached from vfr.caa.ro is never shared or transmitted externally without explicit, informed, and documented user consent
  • Non-PII diagnostic data may be transmitted securely for analysis and service enhancement
  • RoVFR does not sell, rent, or disclose any data to third parties for marketing or profiling purposes
  • RoVFR does not employ data for automated decision-making processes, including profiling.

Data processing is carried out under the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interest: Ensuring operational efficiency and app functionality
  • User consent: Required prior to any transmission of PII

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights that include:

  • Cached PII from vfr.caa.ro is retained only as long as needed for in-app use

RoVFR incorporates industry-standard safeguards to protect all data:

8. Children’s Privacy

RoVFR is not designed for children under 16 years of age. No personal data is knowingly collected or retained from minors.
